This article and its references are fundamental to the project's theoretical underpinnings.

I'd like to transfer my various notes / small scripts / etc. from my first reading of this article into a good-looking .qmd file in this repo, which I can reference as I design simulations.

This background work can also be used as supporting material in the report.
